Curriculum-Vitae
Carlijn Juste is a German art historian based in France. She recently completed a double PhD in art history and visual arts at the University of Groningen and the University of Lille. Her thesis, entitled Digital Materials in Physical Spaces: Exhibiting Digital and Beyond-Digital Installations in Contemporary Art Institutions, explores the relationship between digital materiality and exhibition spaces, as well as new forms of exhibiting developed for digital art. Carlijn Juste edited the special issue Online/Offline : nouvelles stratégies curatoriales pour œuvres numériques for the journal Déméter – Théories et pratiques artistiques contemporaines. She is editing, with computer scientist Laurent Grisoni (director of the Institute for Research on Software and Hardware Components for Advanced Information and Communication), the collective publication Résonances arts sciences: collaborations entre artistes et chercheurs à l’Université de Lille (to be published in September 2025 by Les Presses universitaires du Septentrion). This publishing project, led by the Culture Department of the University of Lille in collaboration with Le Fresnoy – National Studio for Contemporary Arts, aims to document the works produced since 2010 as part of collaborations between artists and researchers at the University of Lille, while placing them in a broader historical and artistic context.
